Changes on 29th March 2021

The club has opened the boathouse for use by members within the attached code of conduct as of Monday 29th March. As always, the club will adjust operational procedures that follow British Canoeing guidance to ensure the club, its officers, coaches, and members are as protected as possible. By 29th March every club member aged over 60 and many over 50 will have had their 1st Covid vaccination. Some will have received their 2nd jab. However, this leaves many club members unprotected. Please protect your fellow club members by following all club and government guidelines at all time.
Thank you again for everyone’s behaviour and conduct on and off the water.

Norman Mason - Secretary
Mark Blatchly - Safety Officer

Notice for people enquiring about membership or taster sessions:

Probably because of lockdowns and Staycations there has been a big rise in interest and participation in paddle sport reflected in the number of enquiries the club has received. The club had suspended application for membership but is cautiously opening up again as follows:
1) If you are novice or have limited experience of kayaking or canoeing we will be offering a 6 week training course on consecutive Sundays for a fixed price of £60. The next course should commence early May. If you enjoy the course joining the club is your next step. Please e mail NKCPaddle@outlook.com  to register your interest.
2) If you have some experience in a racing kayak, this is defined as:
a) You own your own equipment (racing boat and paddles) AND/OR
b) Are already marathon division 1-6 or Sprint A, B or C male, female, master, boys or girls
Please e mail nottinghamkayakclub@yahoo.co.uk with a brief description of your experience and one of the race coaches/leaders will be in touch to suggest suitable groups to join for a taster. Ideally you will have your own racing boat and equipment but if you have previous experience this is not strictly essential.
