Come Dance with Us!
We welcome any who are interested to come join us & try out Nordic dancing. Attending a rehearsal doesn't obligate you to join... but it's such beautiful dancing & good company that most people do!
We welcome dancers of all ages and abilities; feel free to come alone or bring a friend or partner. Most people in the group have some connection to the Nordic countries - be it by blood, interest, or just love of the dance - but it's hardly necessary.
You'll eventually want smooth-soled dance shoes, but they aren't needed to start. We perform in traditional dress, but have a collection of costumes to loan, and we wear comfortable clothing for our weekly sessions.
When
We meet most Wednesday nights from September to June from 7:30 to 10 pm.

Where
We rehearse at Highland View Elementary School, 9010 Providence Ave., Silver Spring, MD, just a few minutes from the Beltway.
The glass door to our practice room is to the right of the main entrance. It leads directly from the small parking lot into the “All-Purpose Room,” where we meet.
Public Transit Directions
The school is about 1.8 miles from the Silver Spring Metro, but several buses will get you quite close, including the Z6, 14, Z8 15, and 12. (You also may likely be able to carpool with another group member.) Google Transit Directions.
Driving Directions
From the Inner Loop:Exit at Colesville Road South (Exit 30) toward downtown Silver Spring. Take Colesville to the first light, which is Franklin. Turn left onto Franklin. You will pass Caroline Street and Ocala. Turn right onto the next street, Wire. Continue below.
From the Outer Loop:
Exit at University Blvd. Southeast (Exit 29). Go to Franklin and turn right. After the light at Flower, watch for Wire after Saybrook. Turn left onto Wire and follow the directions below.
Continued Directions:
You will see signs for Highland View Elementary School. Take Wire past Revere Place, Hamilton, and Melbourne. After you cross Melbourne, there will be a "Y" intersection; stay to the right (on Wire). Wire intersects Providence. Turn left on Providence and follow to the school. Park in the parking lot and enter into the "all-purpose room." The door opens directly onto the parking lot (to the right of the main entrance).
