Outcomes
The Nectar Point Network uses the term 'outcomes' to understand what the project will achieve. Outcomes will be measured by the difference a project will make for the wildlife heritage of plants and their pollinators and the involvement of people and communities in caring for wildlife in gardens and neighbourhood green spaces.
Outcomes for heritage are:
better management of gardens and neighbourhood green spaces;
the biodiversity of gardens and neighbourhood green spaces will be in better condition;
plants and their pollinators will be better interpreted and explained as an exemplar of ecosystem services for human survival;
plants and their pollinators will be bettter identified and/or recorded.
Outcomes for people are:
they will have learnt about their heritage of ecosystem services;
they will have developed skills in growing plants for pollinators and identifying/recording pollinating insects;
they will have learned that they are part of nature in everything they do;
they will have had an enjoyable experience;
they will have volunteered time for environmental betterment.
Outcomes for communities are:
more people, and a wider range of people will have engaged with their local wildlife heritage;
the local area/community will be a better place to live, work or visit;
the local economy will be boosted to the extent that the visually, the urban environment will be more attractive for living and working.
