EXPERIENCE   [RESEARCH & TEACHING]: 

(A)    Teaching Experience: 

• 19 years teaching experience in the Department of Chemistry at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), Majitar, Rangpo-737132 (East-Sikkim). Presently working as Professor & Head of the Department (HOD) in the Department of Chemistry, SMIT, Sikkim.   

(B) Research Experience: 

•  Fifteen days training on nanotechnology (during 15-31 March 2009) at TU Delft University, The Netherlands.

•  Five years research experience in the area of Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Natural Product Chemistry at North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST-CSIR), Jorhat, (former RRL, Jorhat - 785006, CSIR, Govt. of India) Assam, India.

EXPERIENCE [Administrative & Leadership)

(i)    Head of the Department, Department of Chemistry (20 May 2021 to till date): Appointed as Head of the Department, Department of Chemistry, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.

(ii)  President, SMIT Alumni Association (15 February 2020 to till date): Elected as President of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT) Alumni Association.

(iii) Head Alumni Engagement Cell (May 2017 – till date): Appointed as Head Alumni Engagement Cell on 18 May 2017. The objective of Alumni Engagement Cell is to facilitate the Alumni to take active part in the institutional affairs not only for the betterment of students’ community but also for the growth of the Institute as a whole.

(iv) Chairman Admission, SMIT (03 years): Worked as Chairman Admission, SMIT during 26 October 2013 to 30th November 2016.

(v)  Dy. Chairman Admission, SMIT (01 year): Worked as Deputy Chairman Admission, SMIT during October 2012 to October 2013.

(vi) Leadership Training: Participated in the Synergic Manipal Integrated Leadership Engagement Programme (SMILE, Phase - I) during January – October 2015. Participated in SMILE   Phase – II from January 2019 to January 2020.

(vii) Participated in the “TECHNPLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME” at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune during 28 March, 2004 to 29 April, 2004; Organized by CSIR, New Delhi and NCL, Pune.
