Who are we?

Nature Coast Back Country Horsemen (NCBCH)

NCBCH is a not-for-profit volunteer service organization that is a local chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Florida (BCHFL) and the national organization, Back Country Horsement of America.

Our mission is to work with our public land managers to preserve, maintain, and enhance the equine recreational opportunities in Hernando, West Sumter, and NE Pasco counties. We maintain the existing equestrian trails, developed a trail system to include signage and maps, and we print up-to-date maps in order to make riding the trails enjoyable for all. Our volunteers work to clean and maintain trails, and they also become another set of eyes able to report any problems in a certain area. By joining, you may count yourself as someone who is interested in improving equine recreation in our area. When local governments see how effectively volunteers can maintain and preserve the trails and save them money it is a win for both the taxpayers and equestrians.

Becoming a member of NCBCH is a commitment to keeping trails on public lands open to equestrians and to establishing good working relationships with our local land managers.
