Our Staff



Mr. Myers is the lead instructor and developer of the be.next Game Design Academy program, responsible for student scheduling, class placement, academy enrollment, budgeting, and curriculum.  He currently teaches the Game Design 1 and Game Design 2 courses as well as managing the Maker Space lab.  He has been teaching in public high school since 2001.  His teaching experience includes Cisco CCNA Academy, Microsoft Certification, Computer Networking, Computer Applications, MS Office, Keyboarding, Adult Computer Education, Computer Programming, and Video Game Design.  In 2013, Mr. Myers developed one of the first UC approved Computer Programming and Video Game design courses, certified as a college preparatory Math Elective.  His game design curriculum is in use at dozens of other sites throughout the state of California.

Prior to teaching high school, Mr. Myers was a military instructor, performing classroom and inflight instruction as a C-5 Galaxy Combat Crew Flight Engineer Instructor, out of Altus AFB, OK and Travis AFB, CA.  When he wasn't flying, Myers was the Network Administrator and database manager for the 56th Airlift Squadron.

During the technology boom of the late 90's, he was the editor-in-chief of a software and hardware review site, publishing more than 200 game/computer hardware reviews, tutorials, and industry editorials.

Pedro Teves - Social Studies

Mr. Teves teaches History and Government for our program. Prior to teaching, he worked Media Relations for the Sacramento Kings Basketball team, and played Semi-Pro Soccer. He has 12 years of teaching experience.


Jennifer teaches a weekly course on adult living skills, covering a wide range of topics such as finance, cooking, and basic automotive maintenance.
