About Ann

Ann Godfrey - Instructor

After many years of teaching health and fitness classes "western style", I was introduced to a totally new way of looking after my physical and mental well-being and I now truly believe that the body can heal itself of just about any condition - in fact YOU are your own Medicine Factory. This is something the Chinese practitioners of Qigong have known for thousands of years but it is only now being accepted by Health Professionals and Organizations in the Western World due to the immense amount of scientific evidence recently available regarding the effect that the mind state has on the workings of the physical body.

My journey as a teacher has had a 100% about-turn. I was always looking for the latest trend or exercise technique to bring to my students and I am now totally absorbed in a system that has its roots in Daoist and Buddhist practices, merged with modern scientific studies regarding the capacity of the human consciousness and its effect on the physical body.

In 2016 I completed a 3 month intensive Training Course in China as an International Instructor in Zhineng Qigong, a new scientific Qigong, founded by Grandmaster Dr. Pang Ming for use in the amazingly successful Huaxia Medicineless Hospital near Beijing. I have Complimentary Medicine Association recognised instructor certificates in Qigong for Health and Tai-Chi Fit and also trained under the instruction of Master Bruce Franzis of Energy Arts in the U.S.A. To have a more complete understanding of the workings of the body I studied for an I.T.E.C. Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, gaining a 100% pass mark, which has helped me to integrate both Eastern and Western approaches to health and well being

Since completing my training in China my health and mental well-being have reached much higher levels. I have not contracted a single cough or cold in 4 years and I even cancelled a knee operation for a meniscus tear which healed itself along with the arthritis in my left knee and hip.

I am committed to "spreading the word" about the amazing benefits of regular practice of Qigong and continuing my own personal journey. I have no pre-conceived ideas of where my life will take me but I try and keep in mind a favourite saying 'If you want doors to open, you have to let go of the doornob'.

In the Summer of 2022 I decided to retire from teaching weekly sessions to concentrate on my own personal practice. I am still commited to spreading the word about the benefits of Qigong and hope to work with other teachers organising retreats and workshops.
