Welcome to this month's IFOMPT Evidence Release

This month is all about technology - we're thinking mobile apps, telerehabilitation, virtual reality, social media and more. Check out our Special Interest Section below for all this, and also look out for technology research in our usual topic areas too - there's plenty to read.

We hope that you find this issue useful and that you enjoy IFOMPT Evidence Release this month.

Well, it’s here - it is finally 2016, and we are looking forward to a fantastic conference in July in Glasgow. The conference programme has been updated to include all keynote, invited speakers and focused symposia. Check out the programme on the conference website www.ifomptconference.org for the details. You will agree there is a great international show for what promises to be a great event. The pre and post conference courses are also now online and taking bookings - again we have a great range of courses from amazing presenters with something for everyone.

We have had 500 abstracts submitted and these are currently being reviewed, but I have inside information that we have had some great quality submissions!

Early bird registration closes on the 4th April, so get yourself booked in and come and join us in July for a memorable conference.

Good Bye Hip Precautions, Hello Mobility!
The Orthopedic Therapy team at Norfolk Hospital and surgeons now are lifting post-surgical hip replacement precautions with the help of CSP.  Anthony Morgan from the James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth notes, “Finding articles with quantitative evidence on the outcomes of stopping precautions was extremely difficult.” However five orthopedic therapy services were found which had stopped using precautions, one since 2008.
WCPT Launches Look Forward Survey for Physiotherapists 
The World Confederation of Physiotherapy (WCPT) has launched a survey for its member organizations and network welcoming input from physiotherapists. This stems from the WCPT Look Forward Together consultation which working on a strategic plan for the 2016-2021 Confederation.
