Welcome to this month's IFOMPT Evidence Release

Our final issue of the year, and a good time to reflect on the year, and make plans for 2016. Make sure you check out our Special Interest Section this month to read about some of the latest professional issues and opportunities in Physiotherapy. Other research to look out for this month: a cochrane review on osteoarthritis, and systematic reviews on proprioception in neck pain, balance training and trunk muscle strength - plenty to think about over the festive break! We are also pleased to share news from Switzerland and New Zealand this month.

New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapists Association (NZMPA)
The update from NZMPA talks of a productive 2015, including the 2015 Biennial Scientific Conference held in August, and appointment of Dr Mark Laslett as a Life Member of the NZMPA.

Nominate a Team for the WHPA Award in Interprofessional Collaborative Practice 
The World Health Professions Alliance (WHPA) consists of the International Council of Nurses, International Pharmaceutical Federation, World Confederation of Physical Therapy, World Dental Federation and the World Medical Association. This group will be presenting an award to an interprofessional collaborative healthcare team. 
Utilization of Weight-bearing MRI in Wales Helps Diagnose Musculoskeletal Injuries 
The G-Scanner is a weight bearing MRI now being utilized to help diagnose compressive types of musculoskeletal injuries such as spondylolisthesis. This scanner has been helpful in identifying patients for surgery or other treatments.
