See you in Singapore!

Why you should register for the World Confederation for Physical Therapy Congress in Singapore - A message from Margot Skinner, the WCPT Executive Committee member for the Asia Western Pacific region.
The WCPT Congress in Singapore, to be held in May this year, is a fantastic opportunity to join with physical therapy colleagues from around the world and make a contribution towards the profession and your own development.  I urge you to take this opportunity to ensure that the representation from WCPT member organisations in the Asia Western Pacific region is strong. Opportunities like this don’t arrive very often. The congress – the world’s largest international gathering of physical therapists – was last held in our region in 1999 in Yokohama, Japan. Now, with the event on our doorstep again, there is a chance not to be missed. The leaders in physical therapy research, practice and education will be there – so the names you read about in the literature and see in the text books will become a reality! There is also an opportunity to join in and contribute to discussions on the issues affecting physical therapy practice, to have fun with friends and learn from colleagues from over 100 different countries.  This will be a great opportunity to highlight issues that affect the profession in the region. It also offers the chance for other colleagues to learn from us – for example about physical therapist’s role in disaster management. Since our region has the highest number of natural disasters, physical therapists with the expertise are right here.
I look forward to seeing you in Singapore in May 2015!
Margot Skinner
