Emily MacLean is currently an international educator working at 
Chatsworth International School - Orchard Campus in Singapore as the Education Technology Coach. Emily teaches inquiry learning using the Primary Years Programme at an IB World School

Emily enthusiastically supports teachers across the Primary school to integrate education technology into the classroom. She regularly leads professional development sessions using best practice, works one-on-one with teachers to build capacity and co-teaches in the classroom. The most enjoyable part of the job for Emily is when she is able support students in using technology to take their learning to new heights. Emily is a Google for Education Certified Innovator (GUR14), a Google for Education Certified Trainer and an Apple Distinguished Educator (Class of 2015). She is a member of the organising committee for #beyondlaptops, a yearly conference held in Yokohama, Japan, and the Singapore International Student Film Festival. 

She is passionate about fostering student voice and leadership inside and out of the classroom. She is active in her school community through her participation in facilitating the dodgeball, dance, girls Minecraft and Digital Media Team co-curricular activities as well as coaching U12 Girls basketball. While at Chatsworth, Emily has been a member of the United Nations Day, 20th Anniversary, Assessment (chairperson), WASC (resource co-chairperson), School Fair and Deepavali committees. She is also Year 6 Exhibition mentor. Emily enjoys doing ‘Just Dance’ with her students and building a positive school culture. 

Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Emily moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia to complete her Bachelor of Science (Psychology and Sociology & Social Anthropology) from Dalhousie University. She also holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior) from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and is registered with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT#616088). She holds additional qualifications in Reading, Special Education, Kindergarten and Intermediate Mathematics. She is currently studying a Masters of Education (Educational Leadership) through Charles Sturt University
