Dr. Mohammad Rezaul Karim is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Daffodil International University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Earlier he was working as Dean in the School of Science and Engineering (SSE) and Professor and Head in the Dept. of EEE at Chittagong Independent University (CIU), Bangladesh. Dr. Karim received B. Sc. (1998), and M. Sc. (2009) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from KUET and BUET, respectively, and received Ph.D (2015) in Photonics from City University of London, UK. He was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow from 2017 to 2018 at the Photonics Research Center (PRC) at the University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He initially joined Bangladesh Telecom Ltd. as a System Engineer in 2000 and later joined as a Lecturer in the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) in 2004 where he became an Associate Professor in 2011. His research interests include nonlinear optics and modeling of nonlinear photonic devices for broadband supercontinuum generation by optimizing optical planar waveguides and microstructured fibers, based on non-silica optical glasses.
