Pilgrim’s Progress – Well sort of!

On January 27th we at Church Road did a sort of pilgrimage to Uphill Methodist Church to attend one of their Sunday Services.  We were welcomed like old friends, and the service taken by Joyce Pipet really did seem to be especially for we visitors.

The visit is a continuing search for the Church Road congregation having to move to a new place of worship.

Over the past months we have been discussing when, where, how and “if” we have to move then how will we know it is The Lord’s answer to our prayers.

We all have different opinions, and suggestions have been coming on a regular basis whenever the subject of a move crops up; which is quite often as you can imagine.

Unfortunately, there is no easy answer, and though every member of Church Road wants to stay where we are, it looks very much like the decision to move is nearer than any of us expected.

But having said that, we still seem to have the strength and will to continue our worship in this wonderful “posh” building.

One of the hopes I personally keep hold of, is remembering the first service I led way back-along in 2004.

We were welcomed at the door by Leo, and the congregation made us so, so welcome it was like coming home.  After the service we were walking across the road to the car when Ann and I looked at each other in unison and said, “This is where we should be!”

The rest is history, so I reckon most who will read this, will understand how every person at Church Road feels about the probability of a move to a new Spiritual home.  It’s going to be hard, but the words Joyce Pipet reminded us about were, “I am always with you!”

And so He is, always!

And though I’ve said it many times to many people, I sincerely believe in my heart, “The Lord “always” answers our prayers!”  Not always in the way we want, but always in the way we need!

When you go to bed each night, forgive everyone who has done you wrong and sleep with a light heart.

There is no need to rush around.  If something is meant  to be, it will be, for the best reason at the right time and the right way.

Pray often because prayer is not an extra option, nor is it a last resort when all other methods have failed.  When man works, man works, but when man prays God works!  And He answers all prayers!

Try to give to The Lord as much of your time as you can, because your relationship with Him is the most important relationship you will ever have in your life on this earth.

And a final thought: Almighty God is well prepared to meet each and every Christian face-to-face, BUT are we prepared for the possible ordeal of meeting Him face-to-face?

And last but not least :-

Remember, When The Lord takes something from our hands, He is only opening them for something better!
