Who is the MNA?

The Michigan Nutrition Association is a 501c(6) non-profit whose mission is to ensure public access to diverse healthcare providers who incorporate nutrition counseling in their practice and to promote nutrition and healthcare through a competitive, open and transparent system.
Our Vision: To serve the interests of the public and Michigan professionals who incorporate human nutrition in their practice and patient care. We envision a vibrant community of CNS, CCN, CNC, CN, DACBN, RD, Pharmacists, Medical Doctors, Nurses, Chiropractors, Naturopathic Doctors and many other professionals working in the interest of public health.

There has been a public and professional outcry against rules currently being considered by the Michigan Board of Dietetics & Nutrition, which are heavily skewed towards a near-monopoly for dieticians, at the expense of nutritionists.

The set of rules  which have been promulgated could result in considerable loss of jobs and Michiganders’ freedom of choice of healthcare providers.  We are therefore exploring all administrative, legislative and legal options  to protect the livelihoods of practitioners who utilize nutrition counseling, and preserve greater freedom of choice for the people of Michigan.

If you are interested in supporting nutrition freedom, please consider making the largest gift you can afford to the Michigan Nutrition Association. We can’t do it without you.
