The American School Foundation’s College Fair is coming back for its 32nd year! The fair will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2015, time: 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., on our campus here in Mexico City. We continue to host the most extensive undergraduate fair in Mexico, one that is free to attend and open to the public. We typically have more than 130 colleges and universities from the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe and Australia participate.* Students from 50 bilingual high schools are invited. Yearly, we have approximately 2000 people in attendance. This is an excellent way for students and their parents to learn about educational opportunities in Mexico and abroad.

If the October SAT ends up also taking place on October 10, we will extend the time of the fair to 3:00 p.m.
When you arrive to the fair on Saturday morning, ASF will provide you with a Mexican-style breakfast of tamales and coffee or atole to drink. Inside the wellness center (gym) where the fair will take place, you will be provided with a table that is approximately 1.5 m long and 0.70 m wide and covered with a maroon tablecloth. There will also be two chairs for you to use and a sign with your organization’s name on it that is approximately 2 m high. Floor displays will be not be allowed for any university this year. If it fits on your table, you are welcome to have it. We will respect all universities' designated space. ASF will have bottled water available for you on your table.
Please feel free to bring your own tablecloth or banner to use on your table as well as any additional signs. There will be space on the table to have your brochures/information flyers and a laptop. There will be wireless Internet in the gym. Any freestanding signs you choose to bring must not be wider than the length of your table (1.5 m long); we do not believe it is fair to encroach in other universities’ space. “Giveaway” items are acceptable. Pens and bags are always a success!
The cost for a college or university to participate in the fair is $250 USD ($3700 MXN). This money helps with the expenses of the fair and, even more importantly, goes towards a scholarship fund for graduating seniors. We hold an essay contest in April to determine who will receive one of the three to four scholarships awarded. Checks need to be payable to: The American School Foundation, A.C. We cannot accept credit card payments, money orders or wire transfers. If it is not possible for you to have a check sent in advance, please let us know so we can "make note" that you are going to be paying the fee "day-of". Once passing through immigration and customs at the Mexico City airport, or for domestic flights, once picking up your luggage, you will need to walk to any given taxi stand to pre-purchase your cab fare. There are around five different cab companies leaving from the airport and all are completely safe. Make sure you have the address where you will be going ready to show the taxi stand attendant. Cab fare from the airport to the Polanco neighborhood will cost around 200 pesos. Unless you are traveling in a group, do not let the attendant charge you for a minivan or suburban; all of the taxi companies have sedans that have more than enough for one or two people plus luggage.

The J.W. Marriott will have a room block for university representatives participaing in the ASF College Fair. The special rate of $239 USD + tax per night ($284.41 USD total) will be available from Wednesday, October 7 checking out on Sunday, October 11. The rooms go fast so it is encouraged to reserve as soon as possible as it is only a small block of room that we're allowed to reserve (around 25). The last day to book will be September 17, 2015
