About us
Merton Art Society is an art group which meets one Tuesday a month for talks, practical sessions and critique sessions. It also has a yearly exhibition. Everyone is welcome (complete beginners, painters and non-painters). The society has been encouraging local artists for over 50 years in Wimbledon and will have it's 60th anniversary in 2023.
Demonstrations
The group watches demonstrations from professional demonstrators on different aspects of painting, such as landscapes, portraits, watercolours, oil painting, acrylics, mixed media or pastels. Our evenings are well attended due to the high quality of demonstrators. There is a break for free tea and biscuits and a chance to chat with fellow members.
There are also plein air painting trips to local venues.
