Gaat de Schotse overheid een andere koers varen?
Volgens aanbevelingen n.a.v. een onderzoek naar de medische en andere behoeften van ME/CVS-patiënten in Schotland onder leiding van the Scottish Public Health Network wel.
De eerste twee aanbevelingen lijken al veelbelovend:
"is recommended that the clinical, symptomatic definition of ME outlined in the Canadian guideline be adopted in Scotland." ....
"It is further recommended that a symptomatic definition of CFS, based on that proposed in the NICE guideline, be adopted in Scotland."
En ook dit standpunt laat niets aan duidelijkheid te wensen over:
"We need more research to find the cause for ME-CFS, but this does not mean that ME-CFS should not be recognised as a medical condition. ME continues to be included in the World Health Organization classification of diseases as a neurological disorder."
