Macmillan Coffee Morning

A big thank you to all those who braved the rain and joined us for the Macmillan coffee morning on Friday 30th September. We had a lovely event, with plenty of coffee and cake, and a very special visit from the Playgroup children. I’m delighted to report that we raised a total of £208.70 for MacMillan.

Quiz Night at the Shoulder of Mutton

A huge thank you to everyone who came to the quiz on 18th October in aid of Seb and Olivia’s Den. We raised a whopping £732 on the night.

Based in Cramlington, the Den opened as a sensory room five years ago and since then has expanded to offer after school and holiday activities. It offers vital support for children and young adults with additional needs and their families across Northumberland.

Thanks go to Vicky, Jan, Tanya and Lynne for all their organisation behind the scenes, The Shoulder of Mutton for a great atmosphere and delicious food at half time and last but by no means least, a very special thank you to the fantastic quiz master Mick Wake for hosting a fabulous evening.

Thank you so much to everyone who provided display items for the Exhibition, supported on the day and made donations. A total of £187.60 was raised for HospiceCare North Northumberland.

If you enjoyed the exhibition why not come along and join us in one of the Art Group or Embroidery Group meetings.

Can You Help?

Wansbeck Valley Food Bank

Sadly, the current financial situation makes it a challenge for many people to put food on the table. Your support is desperately needed as we head towards winter.

Please leave what food items you can in the Wansbeck Food Bank bin just inside the Village Hall entrance. If the front door is locked please ring the bell. As before they mostly need tinned foods but all contributions are welcome. Alternatively you can send in a donation.

Check the website for details: wansbeckvalleyfoodbank.org

Thank you, Sue Etchells
