Junior Football Club

Longhorsley Juniors are happy to have completed the new clubhouse. This has been a project which has taken 2 years to complete with a lot of effort from the parents of the club. We hope that the village like what we have done. If you have any comments about the clubhouse then we would like to hear them.

At the end of year awards last month, the club had 100 kids turn up for a BBQ and to receive their trophies and awards. We followed the awards with our usual parent versus child football game which always goes down well. We have had two teams win their divisions this year.

We are recruiting for an u6 and u8 team for the coming season to add to our existing teams which will mean we will have 9 teams and around 130 kids in the club next season.

There will be summer training for the kids of all the age groups, u6 to u14. For u6 and u8 teams we are still looking for players, if you would like to join the club either email longhorsleyfc@gmail.com or contact Andrew on 07810 115152. Join our Facebook page Longhorsley Juniors FC.

We were blessed with wonderful weather for our Jubilee Picnic and after toasting Her Majesty with Prosecco and cake we planted our 2 trees.

Visitors are very welcome and for any information about this event or for joining our WI please contact myself or Mary Stephenson our President.

If you are hesitant about coming along alone then we can arrange for someone to accompany you.

Wingates Bridge Club

Wingates Bridge Club returned to playing in person at the village hall from Tuesday, June 21st. The plan is now to meet in person every Tuesday from 7.30pm during the summer - and then play online from October 4th, before going back to in person next April.

The club played successfully online for 27 months but now feels this hybrid model is the way to operate in the future.

New members of all levels will be very welcome, newcomers to bridge in particular. Don't be worried about skill levels - this is a very sociable club and lessons will be given. A basic knowledge of whist is helpful but not essential. The club will be organising a try-outs evening soon.

And members who've dropped out will be warmly welcomed back, too.

Neil Fowler 07770 641385 neildfowler1@aol.com is the main contact, but also Robert Famelton robertfamelton@gmail.com.

Do come along - it is a genuinely fun game.
