Longhorsley WI

At our May AGM we were delighted to learn that Mary Stephenson was to remain as our President for the coming year. Along with our WI Adviser, Prudence Marks, we discussed and voted on this years Resolution. This was to urge the Government to fund research into female presentation of ADHD and Autistic Spectrum Disorders which are going undiagnosed.

Instead of our usual evening Village Hall meeting on June 2nd will all Members please take a picnic lunch to Old Church Wood at 12.00. This will give us the opportunity to plant our Jubilee tree. Hopefully the weather will be fine and someone remembers to take a spade!

Longhorsley Playgroup

The children have been learning lots of new things about how things grow and develop. We have planted some beans in jars and have been watching them grow tall.

The children have been looking at the changes in flowers and what they represent. We have loved learning and looking at Dandelions and how they represent the sun, the moon and the stars. After going on a Dandelion hunt we made some very tasty Dandelion syrup which we used to make some even more delicious flapjack.
