"Make Cruelty to Animals History" march

Thanks so much to Equipet Ashbourne and their customers for this generous donation of food for our animals in care. We have donations bins in both Ashbourne and Navan stores.


"Make Cruelty to Animals History" march

Approx 5000 people turned up to march with ARAN with the goal of ending cruelty to animals. Some of our Last Hope volunteers were proud to be among them. And we couldn't be prouder of our junior volunteers!

Thanks so much to Cuddles Pet Store in Millfield Balbriggan for their generous donation of rabbit food for our bunnies in care. We are in desperate need of rabbit food & supplies so this will definitely be put to good use.


Feral Cat week

August 9th marks the start of Feral Cat week 2015. We are running our voucher scheme for the month of August. We have given extra vouchers to each of our vets this month. 

Trap-Neuter-Return is the humane and effective approach for stray and feral cats. Now scientific studies show that Trap-Neuter-Return improves the lives of feral cats, improves their relationships with the people who live near them, and decreases the size of colonies over time.

Benefits Of TNR:
Relieves cats of the constant stresses of mating and pregnancy.
Mating behaviours cease like roaming, yowling, spraying, and fighting.
Cats’ physical health improves.
Cats live long, healthy lives. 
The population stabilises—no new kittens!
Cats become better neighbours.
Trap-Neuter-Return creates opportunities for outreach, education, and cooperation.

Thanks so much to Hills for making this donation of cat food to help with our ongoing TNR (Trap Neuter and Return) program.


Our TNR (trap, neuter, return) program continues

As of mid February 2015, 16 Last Hope cats have found their forever homes and we have TNR'd (trapped, neutered and returned) 23 feral cats. 63 cats were neutered on our voucher scheme in January and a further 120 vouchers were issued in February. We hope to beat last years 1,000 cats neutered record. If you can give a Last Hope cat a forever home or wish to know more about our neutering scheme to "spay that stray" please email lasthopeinfo@gmail.com or PM us on Facebook.
