Congratulations Molly and Brooklyn Arrow! - a win at the MANFEILD WINTER SHOW JUMPING SERIES held at Foxton at the weekend. Awesome!
The Otaki Riverbank Sports Day was a lovely sunny day out for some of our riders and parents with Maison & Fire, Libby & Gordon winning ribbons at their first outings! Well done everyone who attended. Our First Kapiti Pony Club Camp: was a great success!
Very many thanks to the riders who had such a good time, .... and their parents who contributed so generously to the shared teas. A special mention to Mike and Lil who cooked up a storm on the barbeque at every breakfast and dinner AND who rode on trek every day, drove cars, ferried floats and stayed overnight .... and to Lynda, Dan and Molly who stayed overnight, loaned their float, and helped so much with the organising - AWESOME effort!
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Awesome senior riders this Season: Molly & Brook - Runners-up in the Horowhenua ShowJumping Series 2012 .....
Georgia & Drifter - Winners of the Horowhenua Show Hunter Championship Series 2012. A Brilliant effort and achievement!

Kapiti Pony Club Camp 2012 Sunday April 15 – Tuesday April 17
We Welcomed all our Kapiti Pony Club Riders to our 3 Day Pony Club Camp. Cost: $25 per rider, Plus + parents to contribute to shared tea
Day 1: We begin from the Kapiti Pony Club Rally Grounds at 10 am. Riders should be tacked up and ready to go before 9.45am. Requirements: Water bottle, sun block, rain jacket, and a packed lunch. Our first day’s trek will take us along the beach to QEII Park (where we will stop for lunch), and then under State Highway 1 at MacKay’s Crossing. We will then continue along Waterfall and Valley Roads back towards Paraparaumu until we reach our destination – the Bright’s Farm Woolshed [221 Valley Road]. Very little of the trip is road riding so new shoes on ponies are not required. At Camp we have a wash down area, and large grassy paddock with water for the ponies overnight. We have the woolshed and toilets (not showers) for the riders. We plan on a barbeque tea for everyone Sunday night.
Overnight: Riders (and their parents) have permission to stay overnight at the venue (either 1 or both nights) – but this is not compulsory. Rider’s who wish to stay overnight will require: a mattress, sleeping bag, pillow, nightwear, toothbrush etc and change of clothes. All gear should all be well named and can be taken to the venue in one vehicle/float rather than be carried by riders, or be delivered directly to the venue after 4pm by parents. Ponies: All riders will need to prepare 2x feeds for their ponies (in named plastic bags is a good idea) and include grooming gear, covers, halter/lead rope and feed bucket to go to Camp. Those riders not staying overnight will need to return to Camp before 9am each day to prepare their ponies
Day 2: This is our Forest & Farm Trek Day. We will be heading out over the Bright’s property into the Forestry after breakfast and will spend the day following the trails and enjoying the scenery. We will have our lunch on the trail and will return to Camp before 5pm. We again plan a shared tea.
Day 3: On Day 3 we shall retrace our trekking steps from Day 1 and return via QEII to Pony Club Grounds. Before we leave Camp we will be all packed up and tidied – with gear stowed in the vehicle/float to be delivered to PC.
This is the first time we have undertaken our own Kapiti Pony Club Camp Adventure. Its success will depend on the support of our riders and their parents. We are incredibly grateful to the Bright Family for their generosity in offering their property for our Camp! The Trek itself will go ahead even if numbers are small but overnight stays will require a minimum number.
