Student Librarian Recommendations

The Book Thief
Zusak, Marus
This was in my own library at home. I loved this book from the beginning. The unorthodox use of death as a narrator along with the connection you make with the characters make it a modern classic. It has an amazingly tragic ending and is the only book I have ever read that made me cry.

Paolini, Christopher
I borrowed the book from King's Meadow Library. The reason that I like this book is because it appeals to the side of me that just wants dragons to be real.

Chinese Cinderella
 Mah, Adeline Yen
Borrowed from Haddington Branch Library. It is about a Chinese girl called Chinese Cinderella. This is the story of here struggle for acceptance and how she overcame the odds to prove her worth. The book is based in the early 1940s - 1950s China.
