Step 3- Record Sound

STEP 3 : Record your sound.

1. Plug your headphones into the back of the computer.

2. Open iMovie.

3. Click your first picture, so that there is a yellow box around it.

4. In the middle of the iMovie box, click the button that has the letter i with a circle around it to open the Inspector.

5. Next to the box that says duration, type 300. (This will make your picture stretch out a LOT.)

6. Click Done.

7. Click the button with a microphone on it (two buttons to the left of the i button).

8. Click the same picture again (the really stretched out one).

9. You will hear three "ding" sounds. Start reading the words from your story- ONLY THE WORDS FOR THAT BOX!

10. Hit the space bar when you are finished reading.

11. A purple box will show up under your picture. It will say "4s" if you spoke for 4 seconds. It will say "10s" if you spoke for 10 seconds. It will say "6.9s" if you spoke for 6.9 seconds.

12. Click the i (Inspector) button again. In the box next to the word duration, change 300s to the exact same number as the number in your purple box. This will make the picture stay on as long as you are talking.

13. Click your second picture, so there is a yellow box around it. Start again from step #4.
