House of window side

Hey, there is the outside immediately there

I had stay in the small hut (like under figure; the size of the room is 2730mm×1820mm) for three years. The wall is made with one piece of plywood, and it is the building that sounds of rain, moonlight, birdsong enter directly inside. It is hot in summer and cold in winter. I feel plopping down on the grass as I close my eyes, and I think of the outside in big existence and very soon. That hut was bedroom, but this project is that I enlarged experience that "the outside is close" to a living room and a store with comfort.

A store combination house standing on bedroom suburb. I arrange some volume that is small like the whole room seems to be the side of the window, and life consists by go and come the small space. A big tree as completely cover the small volume is planted on the center of the site. The branches and leaves which opened become a natural umbrella hanging over the site and protect a building and a garden from rain and a direct streamer.

The scenery of the window, that sunlight filtering through trees shake, leads all over the building, I can touch a flower of the garden if I grow a hand. It is such a building next door to outside.

窓 際 の 家

ほらすぐそこに外が

以前，下の写真の延床３帖の小屋に３年間毎日寝泊りしていたことがあります．壁は合板一枚で，夏暑く冬寒く，雨音，月明り，鳥の囀りなどが内部に直に入ってくる建築です．目をつぶると草むらの上に寝転がっているような気分で，外部がとても近く大きい存在に思えました．小屋は寝室でしたが，この「外が近い」体験を居間や店舗にも拡張し快適性能を整えたのが本計画です．

郊外住宅地に建つ店舗併用住宅．部屋全体が窓際であるかのような小さいボリュームを幾つか配し，それらを行き来することで生活が成り立ちます．敷地の中心に，建築群をすっぽりと覆うほど大きな木が植えられています．広がった枝葉は敷地にかかる天然の傘となって，雨や直射光から建物や庭を守ります．

木漏れ日の揺れる窓際の風景が建物のすみずみへと続いていくような，手を伸ばせば，庭先の花に触れるような，そんな外と隣あわせの建築です．
