The building which became the topography

The project that the house standing on, back from the major road. This site is surrounded with evergreen hedge of sasanqua or coral formation or sweet olive, and the garden is such as the private big room.

There was the talk to fill the building underground not to break the garden which the client takes 30 years and took good care of if possible, but now, it is the plan of the house to own the courtyard. Because the privacy of the garden is high, the outer wall is transparent, and the roof is planted turf same as a garden.

A roof undulates and a small hill and valley are born. I can get out of the edge of the building on the roof and can fall in the courtyard on foot. The roof incline goes inward and outward, so as I go around a building, see an open ground and a courtyard, and the scene changes rhythmically. I can see the turf of the roof of the other side over a courtyard. I want this house to be a device to enjoy a garden.

地形となった建物

主要道路から奥まったところに建つ住宅の計画案．サザンカ，サンゴジュ，モクセイといった常緑の生垣で三方を囲まれており，庭自体がプライベートな大きな部屋のような敷地です．

施主が３０年かけて大切にしてきた庭をなるべく壊さぬよう，建物を地下に埋める話もありましたが，いまは，中庭をもつ住居の案になっています．庭のプライバシーが高いので透明な外壁とし，屋根の上には庭と同じ芝を植えます．

屋根は波打ち小さな丘や谷が生まれます．建物の端から屋根に上がることができ，歩いて住居の中庭に降りていくことも出来ます．屋根勾配は内側に向かったり外側に向かったりどんどん変化するので，建物の中ををぐるりと一周すると，外庭が見えたり，中庭が見えたりリズミカルに変化します．中庭越しに反対側の屋根の芝が見えることもあります．建物全体が庭を楽しむ装置になればよいと思いました．
