The public design competition that was performed in August, 2009. I gave presentation for second examination after primary examination and won 2nd prize.

We aimed at the cheerful, comfortable building so that a child could spend it comfortably safely calmly. In the unstable situation that a stay is short; two months, children play avidly and seem to be able to calm down slowly, I suggested "Open space" around the courtyard.

When I observed the site, I had a slightly tight impression as saw the class schedule and the situation of the present room. I hope that children can spend favorite time by a free class schedule at a favorite place…, on the other hand, the teachers had better be easy to watch children if possible, and they want to remove an invisible place.

"Open space" grants a wish of both, children and teachers. "Open space" such as the large room has good prospect, so teachers can grasp who does what or where. And it has a shape of the ring and the depth is deep, a sound and the way of travelling of signs are various, so children have various places. Central large courtyard is the second outside garden which can play even if children do not leave outside a boundary line. They feel trees and the sky of the outside world over low skyline of the building.

"Open space” seems to be a large room, and surrounds the courtyard in the form of the ring and the depth is deep. There are various places such as the garden the tree grows or dining room which can look around outside, a playroom of the opening, the bright learning room which was wrapped in a tender curtain, in the space where a sense of distance coexists with a sense of unity.

Because the structure is wall-type concrete for circumference and the private room for Soundproofing and protection against vibration and good prospects "open space" is steel construction, it is the construction which is the right stuff in the right place that matched a property of the space, and it is a rational plan. Because a ring-shaped plan can arrange a quakeproof wall as good balance, it is reasonable and superior construction for quake resistance. For a one-story, I can hold down the member section of a wall and the pillar at the minimum and realize the space of a light impression.

By facilities plan to utilize natural power like natural lighting or natural draft through the courtyard, the load is reduced. The facilities plumbing channel are coated in soil and run the circumference of the building, so it is superior to maintenance characteristics and expansibility is high. The simple dry mist device which arranged in a courtyard is douche and it is environment device bringing the cool in summer.
