Thyristor and SCR is the same thing.

SCR silicon controlled rectifer is the somewhat outdated name, because the part is not necessarily used as rectifier.

For phase angle switching, a strong pulse is needed.

For zero crossing switching, requirements are somewhat less. 2 moc parts back to back might work.
