Prospective PhD students:

 UKRI funded PhD studentships are advertised in November, with applications needed by early January.

I am happy to support application to (e.g.) Commonwealth Scholarship or other government schemes for strong applicants. 

 Postdoctoral fellows:

I am always happy to talk about possible projects. We have had a high level of success securing funding from the Marie Curie schemes (4 previous fellows) and have developed some expertise in this.

I have also hosted fellows funded by the Royal Society Newton Fellowship scheme, and those supported by the schemes of individual countries.

First step is to send me a brief CV, and one paragraph outline of the project area you are interested in pursuing. We can then Zoom!

It is best to do this 6-9 months before any grant deadline.

In making your decision about where to work, I am very happy for you to contact any of the people who currently work for me, and indeed those who have left the lab to new pastures (see collaborators and alumni). Indeed, I would recommend this.
