Club History

The making of a great Mopar club!

Thank you for your interest in our club.

In early 1991, a group of friends consisting of Dave & Carol Goodrich, Tom & Sharon Potter, Eric Steinman, and Keith & Pam Zanone began tossing around the idea of starting a local Mopar club in Wooster, OH. After lots of discussion, it was decided we would begin asking other Mopar enthusiasts if anyone would be interested in a local club. The response was overwhelming! In March of that year we pulled together the first official meeting of what would become known as Mid-Ohio Mopars.

We are a Chrysler Group LLC registered club and are based in Wooster. Members are dedicated to the restoration and preservation of Chrysler products. Mid-Ohio Mopars is a family-oriented, non-profit club. Because each member has his or her preference of model and/or year, the club members have a unique collection of classic, antique, and high performance Mopars to share with others. We are an age-diversified group which includes younger Mopar enthusiasts as well as seasoned Mopar lovers. We are built on a no alcohol, no drugs premise. Many of our original members are still active in the club today and continue to enjoy the fellowship with each other and the large number of followers who have been attending our events for many years. Membership is open to all those who own or admire Mopars.

We sponsor two events each year. The first is our annual swap meet and car corral which is held each April. Our second event is our annual car show, swap meet and car corral which is held the last Saturday of July. The success of our events has allowed us to contribute more than $45,000 to area charitable organizations which include The Salvation Army, Wayne County Care Center, Hospice, Boy Scout Troops, Christian Childrens Home of Ohio, Ronald McDonald House, Al Koran Shriners Organization, Wounded Warrior Project, USO, Marines Toys for Tots, Camp Quality and others throughout the years.

Mid-Ohio Mopars welcomes anyone as a member who has an interest in Mopars. After attending three club meetings and/or functions, you may choose to be voted in as a member. The three meetings allow you the opportunity to see if our club is for you. We encourage our members to be "active" members, meaning we like everyone to participate in both meetings and events. We work hard but have a lot of fun hosting our events and we hope you enjoy them too!
