Easter Bunny Visits Sparta

On Saturday, April 20th have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny in the side room of the Sparta House Tearoom from 12:00 till 3:00. The Robson Studio will frame it for free. there will be draws and prizes at participating merchants as well as an Easter egg hunt at Sparta Candles. Come out and join the fun. Donations to the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank appreciated.

Summer Jobs

The Sparta & District Historical Society will be hiring students for our museums again this year. Students will be working from May till the end of August but the hours are grant dependent. The salary will be $14.00/hour. We encourage all students to apply that are available at that time. We would be pleased to hire students of any race, culture, physically challenge or sexual orientation.The jobs will involve setting up the new display, doing inventory of donated items, photographing all artifacts and uploading them to the county web site as well as helping with the High Tea and the Art Camp. Art Camp for Elementary aged students

Our 6th annual art camp is back in 2019 from 9:00 am to noon at the Sparta Church Museum. Students should be in elementary school. The date and theme are yet to be determined. The cost is $90 for the week. To find out more call Sally Martyn at 519-775-2292. 

High Tea and Historic Fashion Show

Community Fun Night

This Sparta & District Historical Society will once again be hosting a pot luck supper and square dancing and crokinole on Saturday, March 2 at 6:30 at the Sparta Church Museum. this is for all ages so please come and shore an evening with the community.

The Forge will be open everyday from 12:00 till 4:30 starting May 14 and the Church Museum will open Wednesday, June 1 same times. The church museum will be open from Wednesday till Sunday and holidays this year. The Sparta Church Museum has a new exhibit “The Historical Clothes of Elizabeth Brandeau".
