HALL OF FAME BEADERS' GUILD

BYLAWS

ARTICLE I. - NAME

The name of this organization shall be (the) Hall of Fame Beaders’ Guild (HOFBG).

ARTICLE II. - PURPOSE

The purpose of this organization is to share and exchange ideas through education and participation in all facets of beadwork.

ARTICLE III. - MEMBERS

Section 1.

Any person who subscribes to the objective of this organization may become a member, subject to the provisions of these Bylaws.  HOFBG is nondiscriminatory as to race, color, creed, or national origin.

Section 2.

Prospective members may attend three (3) meetings before they are required to join.

Section 3.

Members in good standing shall have all the privileges of membership, including the right to take part in debate, make motions, vote, and hold office.

Section 4.

A member in good standing upholds the objectives of the organization and is current in payment of HOFBG dues.

ARTICLE IV. - FINANCES

Section 1.

The fiscal year of this organization shall be from January 1 through December 31 of the same year.

Section 2.

The amount of dues are to be determined by a majority vote of the membership each January.

Section 3.

Dues shall be payable to the Treasurer at the January or February meeting and are delinquent after the February meeting.

Section 4.

The Treasurer shall report the state of HOFBG’s finances at each meeting either in person or by written report to HOFBG through the President.


ARTICLE V. - OFFICERS AND ELECTIONS

Section 1. - Officers

The elected officers of HOFBG shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Officers shall be elected at the November meeting.  Elected officers shall assume their official duties immediately after election and shall serve for a two (2) year term.  A majority vote of those in attendance at the November meeting shall constitute election to office.

Section 2. - Eligibility to Serve

All members in good standing shall be eligible to vote and hold office.



ARTICLE VI. - NOMINATIONS

Section 1.

The Nominating Committee shall be selected at the October meeting of the HOFBG.  Nominations for the slate of officers shall be presented at the November meeting.l
Section 2.

The Nominating Committee shall be comprised of one (1) officer and two (2) volunteer members.  No member shall be nominated for office without obtaining their consent to serve.  If there is more than one candidate for office, the vote shall be taken  by ballot.



Section 3.

No member shall be eligible to serve more than two (2) consecutive terns in the same office, and no member shall hold more than one (1) elected office at a time.  The Vice-President shall assume the responsibilities of the President in the absence or inability of the President to serve.  All other vacancies in office shall be filled by election at the first available meeting after a resignation.

ARTICLE VII. - DUTIES OF OFFICERS

A. The President shall:

  • Preside at all meetings.
  • Coordinate the work of all officers.
  • Be authorized to sign checks if the Treasurer is unable to do so.
  • Make arrangements for a suitable location for HOFBG meetings.
  • Serve as Program Coordinator.

B. The Vice-President shall:
  • Be Membership Coordinator
  • Be responsible for maintaining and updating membership data.
  • Act as aid to the President.

C. The Secretary shall:
  • Record the minutes of all meetings and relay those minutes to all members.
  • Send communications as directed by the President.

D. The Treasurer shall:
  • Have custody of all funds of HOFBG.
  • Keep a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures.
  • Pay all bills and sign all checks.


ARTICLE VIII. - MEETINGS

The time/day of the regular meetings of the HOFBG shall be determined by a majority vote of the membership at a location to be determined by the President.


ARTICLE IX. - AMENDMENTS

These Bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of (The) HOFBG by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members present and voting, provided that notice of the proposed amendment(s) have been submitted to the membership at least thirty (30) days in advance.
