Haejun Park, Ph.D.
I am an associate professor in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology at Oklahoma State University. I received my BS degree in Architecture and Architectural Engineering from Hanyang University, South Korea, and my MS and PhD degrees in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), USA.
After receiving my PhD from WPI, I worked for a consulting firm in Melbourne, Australia as a fire engineer developing performance-based fire safety design solutions for various types of buildings. Then, I came back to the fire research field working for the Building Research Association in New Zealand (BRANZ) conducting research with a focus on flame extension phenomena out of an opening.
My teaching and research interests include Fire Dynamics, Fire and Evacuation Modeling, Performance-Based Fire Safety Design Methods, Human Behaviors in Fire, Fire Risk Assessment, and many other topics relevant to the performance of buildings in fire conditions.
