North London resident Gina Blaxill grew up in Finchley and wanted to be a writer from day one. After playing with various ideas and genres during her English degree at Cambridge University, she was lucky enough to land a contract with Macmillan in 2010 for three crime-thrillers for teenagers, the first of which, Pretty Twisted, is an e-book bestseller, as well as being translated into German and Italian. Gina's second novel, Forget Me Never, won the Oldham Book Awards in 2013, and her third novel, Saving Silence, came out in 2013. Gina's inspirations are the everyday relations between teenagers and her favourite writer is Agatha Christie, and outside of writing she works in schools liaison, enlightening young people about the mysteries of higher education.
