The Greater West Central Area Labor Council, AFL-CIO, established 1957 and formerly titled the Greater Eau Claire Area Labor Council, is the state federation of labor representing affliated local unions in Eau Claire, Chippewa, Dunn, Pierce, Pepin, Polk, St. Croix, Barron, and Clark counties.  Merged with the former Chippewa County Labor Council and the West Central Labor Council, the mission of the GWCALC is to improve the lives of working families.  To bring economic justice to the workplace and social justice to our state and the nation.  We work to
  • Build a broad movement of Wisconsin workers by helping workers join and form unions.
  • Support Wisconsin workers as they bargain with employers to improve their living conditions and workplaces, as well as their communities, state and national
  • Strengthen the voice of Wisconsin working families at all levels of government and in a changing global economy.
