Greater Eagle River Tennis Association

GERTA
Welcome tennis players!

GERTA (Greater Eagle River Tennis Association) is a tennis organization that welcomes players of any ability or level.

Message from GERTA President:

Tennis has been called  the “Sport for a lifetime”.  Not only is it a very popular sport across the globe, it is also played by people of all ages. Tennis can be played as both a sport or as a recreational activity with friends and family.  Whether you play with your best friend once a week, On a league or with your family, tennis provides an enjoyable way to get in shape and keep up with the people in your life. Playing tennis has many health benefits including:  increasing aerobic capacities, lowering resting heart rate and blood pressure, improving Metabolic function, increasing bone density, lowering body fat, improving muscle tone, strength and flexibility, increasing reaction times, along with mental and emotional benefits.

The Greater Eagle River Tennis Association is a non-profit organization.  Membership fee is $30.00/single or $60.00/family.  Memberships run from October 1 through September 30.  These fees go directly towards the upkeep and maintenance of the tennis courts.   There are numerous opportunities to play tennis throughout the summer. We host tournaments throughout the summer with cookouts so we can get to know each other better and enjoy the beautiful weather of the Northwoods.  There is always a calendar of events posted at the courts. Come out and play and see for yourself the benefits that I have mentioned above.

Susan Richmond, President-GERTA
