The Pavement Project - remembering the original Pavement Project and Nicklin Memorial Clock in Main Street Palmwoods

To be launched on Wednesday 26 October 2022 by Jenny McKay

at 11am

at Genealogy Sunshine Coast Resource Centre

Petrie Park Road, Nambour

Remember the Palmwoods pavement below the Nicklin Clock in the Main Street of Palmwoods ?

Now with the local names relocated to the boardwalk in the Town Square, we are collecting the stories behind the names on the original pavement tiles which were donated by local residents and businesses.

With 233 pages fully indexed , alphabetical by surname or organisation, and with the board number on the boardwalk so you can easily find your family,  this research links so many families of the area and provides information on the local and family histories of each  of those represented.

Begun as a fundraiser for the Palmwoods Progress Association in 2000, the project raised much needed funds for the community and succeeded in creating a memory of all those who contributed to both the Palmwoods Pavement and the wider community over generations.

You will be surprised by the many and varied stories from these local communities  - make some time to read and enjoy your connections to Palmwoods and local community life and people.
