The Palmwoods Pavement Project

Discover the history of the Pavement Project and find the stories of those who contributed to the community and helped to fund the original pavement  and the Nicklin Memorial Clock.

Wander the new Heritage Boardwalk and find names of family and friends  - the 223 page book with a comprehensive index will help you find your family as all the boards are numbered - so have lunch at the Palmwoods Hotel and take a wander along the boardwalk in Piccabeen Green - the first board starts at that end of town.

But so much more to explore and learn about the history of Palmwoods.

Copies available for sale at Genealogy Sunshine Coast in Petrie Park Road, Nambour  (at the end of the carpark opposite the swimming pool)

The latest publication of Genealogy Sunshine Coast ‘The Pavement Project’ is a record of the families of Palmwoods residents who had either resided here before or were living here in 2000.

The pavement project instigated by the Palmwoods Progress Association and its president Roger Brooke lists 194 entries of individual names and Associations originally engraved on terracotta tiles on a pavement in Little Main Street.

With the upgrade of the area in front of the Memorial Hall the original pavement tiles were  removed and the names are now carved on the boardwalk leading to Piccabeen Green.

The publication  ‘The Pavement Project’ is spiral bound, contains 223 pages with illustrations and a 10 page comprehensive index. Orders can be taken now for the pre publication cost of $27.00. The regular price will be $30 or 2 or more at $25 each .

Other Palmwoods history books for sale at our library are Woombye Cemetery Headstone transcriptions, Their Names Shall Live Forever - Military Personnel Buried in Woombye and Take a Walk Around Palmwoods are also available at sale price.
