Day 6

Post date: May 10, 2010 3:59:42 PM

Route

70E to 465 in Indy, then north on 69 to Ft. Wayne! Slept on Ma’s couch tonight. 300 miles today.

Environment

Home Sweet Home. Food Land, is Indiana. Animals to eat in the water and the trees, and fields aplenty seeded with corn, soybeans, green beans, wheat, and more. Fresh water is never too far off, the moody skies swing from clear baby blue to steel gray to cotton on blue oceans. Four full seasons here. Here, you give THANKS to the sun, for it’s not always here, and THANKS to the rain, because the local crops and economy depend on them.

Technical

Smooth and steady. Oil change tomorrow, and due for a new rear tire.

Social

Mom did not know I was coming home (hee hee). The garage door and door to the house from the garage were open when I arrived, so I peaked in and saw her at the computer desk. (Knock Knock). I’m covering my face, snickering, as she cautiously approaches. She looks at me with worry, confusion. She looks at my clothes and face a few seconds then just fell apart and opened the screen door and hugged me. She later said she recognized my clothes before me! (I’d posted myself in my motorcycle gear on facebook.) It takes zero time to re-acclimate to home.

Psychoanalytic

It hurts to be where you love but cannot stay. It’s the bitter sweetness, the comedic tragedy I seem to find myself in so often.

Weird and Wild

Nothing weird or wild about being fed homemade enchiladas by Mom and curling up on the couch in the house you grew up in. For the time being, it’s nice to be OUT OF THE WILD. It’s time to recharge.
