The Mission

Beginning May 1st, 2010 I will ride my 2008 Kawasaki KLR650 (motorcycle, people) from San Diego, California to Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost human city on the planet. In Brazil I will be volunteering at two primitive, organic farms through World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF.org) for up to six months. I intend to explore Mayan, Aztec, and Incan ruins, and wrassle with a fish or two in the Amazon. Other than that, I have no plans. I don't know where I'll sleep each night. I don't know where or what I'll eat, meet, or greet. The plan is first and foremost to go and see what happens. Total Duration: 9 months minimum, funds providing. I guess it's pertinent to say that I have been riding for only four months and my Spanish is weak.

This site is dedicated to the many people who have called me crazy over the years. It is also dedicated to Mother and the many, many people who have helped me to be able to make this dream a reality. And thanks to Earth for being such a great organism to explore.

Update: 6-7-11. As expected and for too many reasons to list, things did not go as planned. I stayed several months in Colombia and bypassed Ecuador and Peru. I flew to the Amazon, took a couple boats through the Amazon, and drove through the heart of Brazil. In Argentina, I took the famous Route 40 of the west through Patagonia. I arrived in Ushuaia on April 16, 2011 and sold my motorcycle there. I flew home to the United States on May 5, 2011.
