Forecasting and Risk Management for Renewable Energy, Paris June 7-9, 2017

This workshop aims to bring together statisticians, probabilists, meteorologists, economists and engineers working on various aspects of renewable energy, from production forecasting to optimal storage management. The particular focus will be on wind with some talks addressing photovoltaic energy as well.

Forewer seminar - February 22nd

The first session of Forewer seminar will take place on February 22nd, in room 1016 of Sophie Germain building at 17:30 pm. We will have the pleasure to attend a talk by Jairo Cugliari (Univ. de Lyon) entitled "Prévision d’un processus à valeurs fonctionnelles en présence de non stationnarités. Bastien Alonzo joined the project team as a PhD student starting from October 1st, 2015. He splits his time between LMD and LPMA and works on seasonal forecasting of wind and wind power.

Lucie Montuelle (post-doctoral researcher) has jointed the project team starting from September 1st, 2015. She works on short term wind power forecasting using statistical learning methods.

On March 11, 2015, the consortium members met to discuss the current issues of the project and attend the presentations by 
Bénédicte Jourdier "Surface wind speeds over France:  inter-annual variability and trends (1979-2013)."
and Mathilde Mougeot "Modèles parcimonieux en grande dimension. Application à la prévision de consommation électrique."

Hans-Kristian Ringkjob has joined the project team starting from March 1st as an intern. He will work on the analysis of surface winds using state-of-the-art statistical methods. 

Kick-off meeting

The kick-off meeting took place on December 1st at Université Paris 7. After a 30-minute presentation by each partner, we discussed the consortium agreement and the job profiles for the PhD student and the post-docs which will be hired by the project. The project members can download the presentations and the detailed description of the meeting in the File upload section. 

The project officially started on October 1st, 2014
