These fancy yarns were created by The Experimental Spinners, a group formed with the aim of promoting the skill of spinning. In collaboration with the South African Wool Board (dismantled in 1997) they designed pretty and easily spun yarns to be shared with rural community projects for spinners.  The yarn spinning “recipe’s” proved to be in demand and a booklet was published, each with its own samples attached. Copies of this booklet were sold locally and in Australia, Holland and New Zealand.
