Awards and Scholarships

The UNB Fencing Club awards the UNB Shield Trophy and its Volunteer Achievement Award annually. The University of New Brunswick annually awards six to eight scholarships to athletes in the amount of 500$.

UNB Shield Trophy: The UNB Shield Trophy is awarded annually at the UNB Shield tournament to the top male and female athlete in each Open event category.

Volunteer Achievement Award: The UNB Fencing Club's Volunteer Achievement Award is awarded annually to recognize the efforts of individuals who, throughout their involvement with the club, have used their skills, expertise, and knowledge to benefit the club and its members. Nominations for the award are accepted throughout the academic year. The final selection for the award is made by the club's Awards Committee.

Scholarships

Alumni Merit Awards: Awarded to a UNB student (with a 2.5 gpa or higher) demonstrating a special talent and showing successful academic performance. The student will be expected to use this special talent to contribute to the University community (Sport Clubs). This award is made possible by The Associated Alumni of the University of New Brunswick. Nominations for the awards are made annually by the club's coaches.
