I am glad to be a part of this group and to meet you all!
Let me answer what I can of Edwin's questions:
1. What is your name, background and interest with training empathy?
My name is Dorothy Della Noce. I think of myself as a writer, teacher, and trainer, in other words, a professional communicator :) I come from the Communication discipline. I teach Communication in the Master's program at Walden University, run a coaching/editing service for academic writers (https://theacademicwritingcoach.com), and maintain a website for my interest in helping people communicate across differences (https://communicatingacrossdifferences.com). I have been interested in empathy since the late 90s because I consider it a powerful practice for helping people communicate across differences.
2. What are your ideas for forming an International Empathy Trainers Association?
I cannot say I have a lot of ideas for the association yet. I am interested in seeing what develops. Right now, I am focused on working in the Lit Review project and the Curriculum project.
3. What sort of support do you need from IETA?
I think that providing a resource bank (of ideas, not $) would be a great source of support.
How would you like to contribute of building the Association?
I think some ideas will come from working in the Lit Review project and the Curriculum project.
4. What questions do you have for others on the list?
I would just like to connect and learn more about what others are doing.
