It seems to be Hedychium spicatum.
Nice photos of Hedychium sp., seems to be H. spicatum
It is Hedychium spicatum only. The wild Zingibers in Uttarakhand develop their flowers at the base of stem.

Could it be Zingiber roseum?
First Picture, where fruits are close to ground is ...
and second, where fruits are at terminal is Hedychium spicatum.
Thanks for pointing out and correction. The second image of Hedychium is inadvertently attached.
Wish you a very fruitful visit to Leh, and I hope that with your keen eye, you'll be able to bring back many plant curiosities of the area for sharing with the group...

Spiked Ginger Lily : 8 posts by 6 authors. Attachments (2).
I thought I will share with you this beautiful plant of the ginger family that is in bloom now (4.9.14). The roots are used in Tibetan medicine to cure digestive and blood circulation problems. It's very common here. Spiked Ginger Lily (Hedychium spicatum)
Mcleodganj, Dharamshala, HP
About 1700m
Leaves are dark green more than a foot long.
Nice photograph of Hedychium spicatum Buch - Ham
Hedychium acuminatum- Ban- Haldi, Shati, Kapur- kachri. Frequent in Devdar Forest shades in and around Shimla, sporadic elsewhere. Rhizome useful part in medicines.
Hedychium acuminatum Roscoe is synonym of H. spicatum. both are same.
Thanks, ... All your posts are really wonderful.
While discussing the fruit of Roscoea alpina in another thread, I though of sharing fruits of Hedychium spicatum which I found forming on my Triund walk on 21st August.
Since these are growing in good numbers on our hillsides I took the liberty to break one seedpod open to peek inside. Here is the result. 1 image.
I need not have hurried because the seedpods are opening on their own revealing the red fleshy interior. I took some photos to share. 2 images.
Wonderful images.
More details! 2 images.
