In most of the villages when villagers say "Aarrarrot", i think they mean Arrow-Root. Its rich in starch. One can spot thousands of them at "Raireshwar". In my mother-tongue, Konkani (Mangalore) too, we say it something like this: RRroot !! Hitchenia caulina Zingiberaceae Very nice. These are in fairly large numbers.
