I can confirm that your four photos from Kerala are Boesenbergia tiliifolia.
Nice photos. Any more of this species?
I would like to see a picture of this plant fully excavated (very carefully) to see the subterranean architecture if you get the chance.
Thank you very much sir.
I did not do it for this plant unfortunately! I will update in this thread when I see the plant again. I will post more photos as well.

Boesenbergia pulcherrima: Boesenbergia pulcherrima (Wall.) Kuntze of Zingiberaceae (Ginger) family. This is a small annual herb growing in the floor of evergreen and semi evergreen forests.
At present we work on the pollination ecology of this species.
It should be Boesenbergia tiliifolia as ... has stated in the following thread that B. pulcherrima is present only in NE India:

Kindly examine and identify this plant

Habit: Herb

Habitat: Wild,Evergreen forest

Sighting: Agumbe,Karnataka,about 1000 msl

Date: 05-08-2016

It looks like Boesenbergia pulcherrima (Wall.) Kuntze of Zinziberaceae

Boesenbergia pulcherrima

It should be Boesenbergia tiliifolia as Sabu ji has stated in the following thread that B. pulcherrima is present only in NE India:

I cross checked eflora karnataka for an answer, I found it closer, hence identified as B.pulcherrima

Earlier it was misidentified as B. pulcherrima but now it is confirmed that it is restricted to NE India and South Indian specimens are B. tilifolia.
