Urticaceae for ID ABAUG2016/35 : 8 posts by 3 authors. 3 images.
This one looked like the stinging nettle from a distance but up close its smooth leaves and lack of stinging hairs pointed to another species. I touched the leaves without feeling any sting. Which species could it be? Please advise.

Thanks, ..., for detailed images. I also feel Urticaceae only.
Looks like Urtica dioica species. Could be a variety.
Thank you ... It had no stinging hairs despite its close resemblance to U. dioica.
Urtica dioica var. afghanica is often without stinging hairs. This may be checked, the area is not far away from Himalayas.
