But I do not know what will be current accepted name of this plant, because - 1) Earlier I received the ID, in a personal mail, as Talinum portulacefolium (Forsk.) Asch ex Scaw. Syn Portulaca cuneifolia Vahl., whereas eFI and FoI identifies it as Talinum fruticosum (L.) Yes, it is Talinum only, I too agree with ... The ID is correct. I have this plant in my garden in Mysore. We have been using this plant as a leafy vegetable since a decade or two!. It is commonly known as 'Ceylone basale' in Tamil. Also grown in many houses in Chennai as a leafy vegetable. |
