Perhaps Acer cappadocicum, photographed from Mandal forest near Chopta, Uttarakhand, please validate.
efi page on Acer cappadocicum
It does not look like A.cappadocicum in which leaf margins are entire and samara diverge opposite to each other.
This will be A. sterculiaceum as per keys and illustrations in pdf in Flora of Nepal.

Flora of Chakrata: Acer for id from Budher caves road: This Acer sp. was shot from Chakrata-Tinuni Motor Marg while going to Budher caves... in May 2012... hope to get specific id...
I hope Acer acuminatum
Leaves lobes are not having any serration, so i think it is not acuminatum.
Thanks ... for pointing out
How about A. caesium??
This could be Acer lobelii subsp. pictum (Thunb.) Wesm. Syn: Acer pictum, Thunb..
A. caesium also have serrations on lobes.
http://plants.jstor.org/specimen/k000640776

Strangely Acer pictum Thunb. is a syn. of Synonym of Kalopanax septemlobus (Thunb.) Koidz. (In Araliaceae) as per GRIn (updated in May 2013).
Acer lobelii subsp. pictum (Thunb.) Wesm. is a synonym of Kalopanax septemlobus (Thunb.) Koidz. as per The Plant List, while it shows Acer pictum Thunb. as an accepted name in Sapindaceae.
Forwarding it for confirmation as Kalopanax septemlobus (Thunb.) Koidz. as per GRIN or otherwise.
To me it is more closer to Acer caesium Wallich ex Brandis than any other species. Shape of samara also resemble to A.caesium.
It is certain that it is not Kalopanax septemlobus of Araliaceae which is not known in Uttarakhand.
Kindly also check Acer sterculaceum
This will be A. sterculiaceum as per keys and illustrations in pdf in Flora of Nepal. It was also suggested by ...

This tree was shot from Chakrata in Western Himalayas...
this was previously identified as Acer lobelii subsp. pictum.... please validate/correct..

Sapindaceae Fortnight: Acer sp. from Uttarakhand for ID-GS-19 : 4 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (3).
Acer sp., photographed from Chopta, Uttarakhand. Please help in ID.
The possibilities are in A.caesium, A.caudatum and A.sterculiaceum as per the Fascicles of Flora of India, Aceraceae by Nayar and Dutta1982.
This appears to be the same species as in Sapindaceae Fortnight: Acer cappadocicum from Uttarakhan pl. validate-GS-17
